Purpose
The Alvin Leonard Youth and Family Center is a nonprofit, faith-based
organization in Inglewood, CA. Our purpose is to provide educational and
recreational activities for kids in grades 1-12, to work in partnership with parents, church and community to present a world of opportunities for our youth. We also provide
support services to assist families in enhancing their quality of life.
Leadership
The Leonard Center
operates under the guidance of a board of directors comprised of church
and community members. Elder Mark Leonard, pastor of our founder Greater Deliverance Church, serves as our board president.
Pastor Mark is owner of a real estate mortgage brokerage firm. He is also a student at King's Seminary, where he is completing a bachelor's in theological studies. Pastor Mark formerly served as a youth pastor for about seven years. He has a heart for youth and community outreach and evangelism and has been the driving force behind the development of our youth center.
Our executive director,
Naomi Bradley, previously served for 10 years as executive director of
youth centers in South Los Angeles and Moreno Valley/Perris. Naomi has a BA in
journalism and marketing and an MA in intercultural
studies and children at risk from Fuller Theological Seminary. She works as editorial manager for a Christian book publisher and formerly as a youth development consultant for World Vision.
Our associate director, Dinah Gordon, is
responsible for the day-to-day operations of the youth center. Dinah is
owner of a catering and business support service and has served in
administration, community outreach and youth ministry at Greater
Deliverance for more than 20 years. She is a licensed minister and
has attended SAY Yes and other youth ministry trainings.
